Wooster Lodge #10, Colchester , CT Worshipful Master’s Message
Thank you for your ballot in electing me as Worshipful Master for 2011. This is my fourth term, although not consecutively, I look forward to working with all of you during the year. My thirty two years of Masonry have taught me many things, and I am humbled by your confidence in me. I will do my best. Character is one thing that is critical and important in the life of a mason. It takes time and energy to build character and it can only take a second or two to ruin. As masons, we are constantly trying to improve ourselves, trying to mould our rough ashlar to a smooth one. One hundred and fifty years ago, America saw the first signs of the War Between the States or what is known in the North as the Civil War. Wooster Lodge had several brothers serving in that conflict and many more involved in the war effort at home. During the year, at each meeting a short educational topic will be presented on those nights there is no degree or special program to inspire and educate you on Freemasonry and its history. I hope you will contribute with your attendance if possible or suggestions which will improve not only Wooster Lodge #10 but Freemasonry in general. Too often we comfort ourselves on a Friday night beside a warm fire in the fireplace or next to the woodstove watching was seems like dribble or trash on television. Take time out, please, to come to lodge and see what we are all about. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. Good fellowship and Freemasonry go hand in hand. Send me an email, or call me on the telephone if you have suggestions or information that we can use in lodge. If you just want to talk, I will be there for you. We have several different events scheduled for this coming year, including our traditional march down Main Street for our St John observance in June, our game dinner table lodge in November, our awards night sometime in the late spring or early fall, a mini-golf tournment between another lodge where kids of all ages and talent from 2 to 102 can come if they can push a putter for eighteen holes. We will have some summer get-to-gethers with the Master and officers and participate in the district wide dinner for the wives of our departed Brothers who we hold so dear. I look forward to seeing each of you in lodge, this coming year.
