Master’s Message December 2011

My Brothers,

An unusual business related occurrence has caused our Senior Warden, Bro. Linus Sanstrom to step aside for now. The collective mass hysteria of the Brothers at the election of officers has placed me in the Master’s chair. I am humbled by their confidence, not so much in me, as it is confidence in all of us to make our lodge continue to work.

We’ve heard a lot recently about shared sacrifice. Here I address shared work, fellowship and success. Wooster Lodge, now and always, belongs to each of us. I ask each Brother to search his heart and find one thing you can do to help share the work, the fellowship and the success of our lodge.

Do you like memory work? There are parts for you. Do you like to cook? There are dinners & refreshments you could handle. What about organizing? There are many opportunities for that. Volunteering? We’ll have several possibilities, watch your trestleboard. What about fundraising? Your hands, heart and mind are needed.

There are two areas currently being contemplated where a small group is needed to explore, recommend and lead the effort. First is a fund raising/sponsorship of a sanctioned chili competition. Second is an all you can eat soup dinner to raise funds for a food/hunger related charity. If either of these pique your interest we’d love to have you help share the work, fellowship and success.

I’m certain there are other ways to participate that I haven’t mentioned. The point is there is something for everyone and it doesn’t have to be more than you are willing to do. Lodge can fit into your life, I’m certain Masonry already does.
